All By Myself

When I was fourteen years of age I took a trip to France and stayed with a French family that I have never met before. At first I felt incredibly awkward and uncomfortable especially during family meals. At the time I did not completely understand the French language so it was hard for me to communicate with Nicholas (the french boy) and his family. Although this experience was challenging for me at first I started to slowly become more fluent in French and felt much more welcome. I learned much from this trip to France.
