When a Line Isn't

Walking along the path single file is a simple concept. The people walking would be in a line, and they would be fairly equally spaced. The Portledge Seniors, however, managed to deviate from something that is not particularly complicated. There was the first group, led by Mrs. Mooney, at the front, all a few feet apart. Then, several yards back, was another chase group. There were more beyond. In each group there existed relatively close spacing, but each group was far apart. What does this say about those who were walking? Are there three or four people who chose to walk slower than those ahead of them, causing a separate bunch of people to form? Did people choose to stick with their friends? If we, the seniors, are to accomplish much, we need to eliminate these groups. We need to look beyond our friends and participate together in whatever we need to do. We need to walk at the same pace, allowing everyone to react to challenges quickly and effectively.
