the sounds of silence

As a group, we ended our first day as seniors in silence. Despite the silence, it seems we all know each other well enough to easily communicate without words. On an unexpected walk through the back country of Portledge School, we were all given a chance to observe each other and reflect on the past. However, all I can seem to remember is the ground (as I often fell every time I decided to look up). There were mixed reviews about the excursion, but despite the heat and mosquitos, it was definitely an "interesting" way to start the year.
