With joining my new hockey team, i was intruding on their space. The team had been playing together for many years and suddenly i was the new recruit. I entered the team knowing that they were very close, but hoped that i could truly become a welcomed teammate. When the season began i was treated differently throughout the team. Some saw me as a threat to their position within the team, while others greeted me warmly. I understood why certain people acted the way they did and i just tried to deal with every friendship i made. i played a full season with this team and it was great. Entering their territory, i was able to adjust to their superstitions and game plan to be an active member of the team.
